Jamal’s journey to the Athlete Refugee Team started with a three day trek across the Sinai Desert. Now it could carry him all the way to an Olympic stage. After fleeing war-torn Sudan in 2010, Jamal was granted refuge in Israel. He began a new life as a painter. Then he really found his feet. At Tel Aviv’s Alley Runners Club in 2014, things started moving fast. Five years later he competed at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha. Today, his race is far from finished.
